My interim license (temporary driving license)

I renew my driving license last Thursday. It did not take me long to renew it. I had my eye test and passed with flying colors. She also took a picture of me. The woman in the register gave me a number. I waited at four (4) people before my number was called. I also register to vote. I applied through the machine in the register. I also bring my US naturalization certificate just if they need proof. Luckily, I did not encounter any problem. I also paid $64.50 for my driving license renewal fee. The woman in the register asked me to sign.

She then gave me this interim license or temporary license.  This interim license will expire on January 2014. I am sure before that I will receive my new driving license in the mail. My new driving license will expire in 2021.  It will expire on eight (8) years. I hope that I will not receive any traffic violation ticket. I was a law-abiding citizen for three (3) years. I cannot wait to receive my new driving license in the mail very soon. It takes at least two weeks.

It is time to renew my driving license

My driving license will expire exactly on my birthday.  I need to renew my driving license pretty soon. I am very blessed to drive for three (3) years now. I still consider myself a new driver. I am learning every time when I drive by myself or with my kids with me. I thank God for protecting me and my kids while I am driving.

I received a letter from DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) yesterday. The letter also includes a vision test, form and instructions on how to renew my driving license. There is also a question if you want to be an organ donor. I am really thinking about donating my organ. Will you donate your organ too?  There is also a question if you want to vote or not. I did not register definitely I will not vote. I should register so I can use my right as an American citizen.

There are two ways to renew my driving license. I can renew it online. I can renew it by my mail. I will renew it by mail. The renewal fee for my driving license is $64.50. My husband will go with me to the DMV sometime this week. I can go there by myself. He just wants to make sure that I am doing fine. He is very supportive

How about you? Have you renew your driving license before?

My 3rd year as being naturalized American citizen

It was a week ago when I became a naturalized American citizen. This year is my 3rd year. It took me a while to decide to give up my Filipino citizenship. It was not easy but I did it. It took me eight (8) years to apply finally for an American citizenship.

 photo 3rdyearasbeinganamerican.jpg
My processing was easy. I think I waited for a month before I first received my notice that my application was accepted. The next month after I went to the US Immigration in the city to have my finger printing. They also gave me a CD and book to study about the US history. The month after I did received another noticed that I will have my interview. I did study the US history seriously and played the CD every time I am in the car or at home. It helped me a lot to learn the US history. I was very ready when I had my interview. I remember I was asked about four (4) questions. I also had my oath to tell the truth. I did a written exam and read few words. It was a very easy interview. I thank God that I passed and so as my family.

It was September 14th of 2010 when I finally received my certification of being an American citizen. There were many applicants during the oath ceremony. I am the only one who comes from the Philippines. I thought the ceremony is inside the building. Unfortunately, it was outside. It was very chilly that day. It feels like autumn. I do wear a jacket to cover my dress.

How about you? Are you an American citizen? Do you have plans of applying of becoming an American citizen? It is very easy to apply. All you do is asked for a form online. They can mail it to you. What I did was? I study the US history online to learn more about US history. It does help me a lot before my interview. You have to make sure that you learn information especially your travel outside the USA. All you do is pay attention to your passport. You can study the US history and questions are mostly personal for your interview. I am not sure how much is the fees now to apply for an American citizen. I knew we paid $675 three years ago. They accept check or money order. I wish you good luck.

Received our Federal Income Tax refund

Last Friday we received our Federal Income Tax refund. It took two weeks exactly to receive it in the mail after my husband filed our joint income tax return. We are happy that at least we receive something. My husband just deposit the check to our joint savings account. I know that he will use the money for the house. I like it that way than spending the money buying unnecessary stuff. We are waiting for the State income tax refund, hope to receive it this week as well.

How about you? Did you filed your income ax return yet? Did you receive your income tax refund? What are you going to do with your refund?

My 11th year here in America

It was February 16th of 2002 when I first arrived in San Francisco, California. It was a very long flight from Manila to San Francisco via Philippine Airlines. I cannot forget I am carrying my X-ray result with me all the time. It was a tiring flight being my first time flying in the international flight. The foods that the airlines served were very delicious. I still remember this mean woman telling me that I can use other bathroom. I was inline because I need “to go” so bad. As a first timer, you are still learning your emotions during the very long flight. I remembered I was interview by the Immigration officer and asking about a certain documents. I did not bring it with me. I replied to him that my fiancĂ© that time now my husband submitted it in the US Embassy in Manila, Philippines. I am glad that he believes in me and stamp my passport as my port of entry.

It was 34 degrees when I first step out at the Buffalo International Airport in New York. It felt like I am inside the freezer. Can you imagine from 90 degrees to 34 degrees in 24 hours? I am sure that your body is shock with the temperature changes. Life has been great since then. I am very blessed with two kids. My first job is in the nursing home for seven months but have to stop when I gave birth. I visited the Philippines for four times. The recent was last year of July 2012. My kids are both baptized in the Philippines. I lost the best man in my life, my father, whom until now I miss so badly. I know that he is very happy in heaven.
I had been to some States like Georgia, Louisiana, Pennsylvania and Chicago. I also went to Canada and Japan. I love the steak with mushroom and asparagus. I still eat Filipino foods everyday.   I learned how to drive and have my driving license. I also become an American citizen.  These are some of my achievements since I live here in America. I want to say thank you to my husband for loving me as I am. I want to say thank you to America for accepting me as I am as well.

Tax Refund Deadline

Did you all file your tax refund before the deadline? I hope so. I hope also that you all get a refund back from the IRS. I heard that some people owe money to IRS. How that happened? By the way, how did you filed your tax? We went to our tax lady every year. About us, we had our refund a month ago. We filed back on February. Received the refund two weeks after. What did you do with the refund you got? We use ours for our drive way. It needs to fix badly. We ordered our kids a custom book shelves. We also ordered a custom bus stop. I am so thankful that my husband use the refund wisely. He always make sure that he spends the money wisely. He also helps me for my mom's eye surgery. I am so thankful to him for being helpful to my family. What about you friends? How did you spend your tax refund? A Vacation? A Spa? Whatever it is, have the fun and spend your money wisely. You all deserve it.

Income Tax Refund

As you all know leaving in America if you have a work, you have to pay tax to the government and you will

get a refund for the following year. You can also claim a refund from many sources like from your stocks,

from appliances or renovation you did in your house, also from charity, mortgage and so many other things.

We received our Federal first and I hope the State will follow. It is not as big as couple years ago because

my hubby only claim himself, now he claimed four and he takes home bigger. My hubby will helped me

apply for a US passport so as my son as his is expired already. Then I will apply for a dual citizenship for the

three of us, myself and my two kids so we will be Filipino citizens again. For the future, if they want to go to the

Philippines and they are legal to live and work there. Who knows only GOD will guide them. Wishing

everybody will get there refunds soon.
