My gratitude gathering for two Filipina that helped me to have this job

I cannot believe that it has been 5 weeks today since I started working. It seems like the time goes so quick so fast.

Anyway, I am thankful to these two Filipina M & E for helping me to have this job in a health care facility. I am so beyond grateful for these two. Work is so physical and so tiring. The best part is walking. It is like you are working out while doing your job. My favorite is talking to the residents and get to know them better.

On February 28th, I invited my two Filipina friends to our house. They both were working that day. It was my day off. I made sure that our house is presentable. I told them to come over after work. I was surprised that they bring with them another co-worker of mine. I just want them to be surprised. Ms. K also is one of the women that trained me at work. I am happy that she came with them.

I bought a small cake for them which I write a Thank you M & E in the middle. I also made some Filipino food like pork adobo, pancit and chicken macaroni salad. E's family arrive few minutes. It was a small gathering but I am so happy that they both came. We had a wonderful time so as my family.

The chicken wings annual competition

Lasts weekend was the chicken wings annual competition held in our city. As you all know, Buffalo is famous with the Buffalo wings. No city can beat our chicken wings here in Buffalo. The name originates from our city. Buffalo wings is a must food for the weekend or at the parties. We missed the festival yesterday. We would come if we know it. There were 85,000 crowds who visited the festival. Visitors are from the 50 states and some are out of the country just to witness this famous festival. There is also a chicken wings eating competition. Guess who won? It is a woman from Virginia. She is Sonya Thomas. She eats one hundred eighty-three chicken wings in 12 minutes. She competes with the guys. She is so skinny. I wonder where she put all the wings.  She even beat her world record. Good for her, congrats Sonya.

Dried Fish And Fried Egg For Breakfast

with rice  is what I ate yesterday, it was so delicious. Being a Filipino leaving in the USA is hard

because once in a while you are craving for foods that you normally eat back in Philippines. I seldom

fry dried fish.  1. They stink the house 2. In the Fall or Winter windows are close so the neighbors

cannot smell it but that morning I cannot resist. I just turn on the exhaust fan, light the candle and

fry the fish. I am thankful that my hubby dear has no complain about the odor. He said that since

you eat and enjoy your food that is the important.
