Hearing some nice words from my supervisor at work

Yesterday while I was working, Miss D (the nurse) told me that I need to get a second dose of the PPD shot. It is a skin test if you have a tuberculosis with you. I had once done and turned out negative. You needed two doses as it is required. I am done with the PPD test. The next time I will have it is next year if I continue to work with this health care facility.

I am in my last room to clean when Ms. D asks me that she needed me in her office for the PPD shot. I told her that she is mean every time she gave me a shot. She just smiles at me. She knew that I hate shot.

I left after I had the shot and continue my work. I noticed that my left arm where I had a shot is bleeding. I went to the nurse office but no one is around. I went to my supervisor's office and asks her if she has a band-aide. She said she does not have any but she knows where the nurse put the band-aide.

She covered my arm with the band-aide. I told her thank you for doing that. She said that "I am so sweet" and that they are lucky to hired me. I just smiled back and told her that I am grateful and lucky to work here. I told her that I have the best supervisor which she is. My supervisor always work for our schedules. She always around every time we need something.

I LOVED working in this health care facility. I LOVED talking to the residents and help them if I could. Being kind to one another makes working this health care facility the best place to work for me.

J is an old friend of mine whom I met when I first arrive here in New York. She lives in the same island in the Philippines. Though she lives one hour way from my city. We become friends since our babies our little. We also speak the same dialect.

She invited me to attend her baby shower. She is having a baby girl this time. She already have the two boys. This Princess will complete her family. She lives 35 minutes from where I live.

My little K went with me that Saturday. We wear dress. It is very warm that day as well. At first the little K is bored because there was no kids around. J has a son and plays Mine Craft as well. She has a somebody to play the game now.

We had a wonderful time at the baby shower. Most of her guests are Filipino like me. We play games like scramble words, guessing game and a thread to measure how big is her tummy is. The food was all delicious. I had a full tummy when we left. There is also a karaoke. I sing with some of the girls. It was awesome to spend time with adults. I cannot remember when was the last time I attended a baby shower.

I want to say thank you to j and her family for having us over. We had a wonderful time. I wish her good luck and hope she will have an easy delivery. I wish her too an early recovery. I cannot wait to see her Princess. She will give birth next month.

Happy 82nd birthday to our dearest Grandma

Today our dearest Grandma is celebrating her 82nd birthday. I wish her good health the most. I hope that she feels better. Our Grandma was at the hospital because she cannot breathe. She has an emphysema. She is using a tube to help her breath. I wish our Grandma the best health. We got to see her few days ago.

By the way, here are photos when my kids were babies. You can see the difference between my two babies. The big brother is so little because he was born premature. The little girl is so much bigger though she was born a week early. Here is the recent picture of them  I took last Christmas. My kids are growing fast.

It's raining and it's pouring

I woke up with a pouring rain this morning. I never thought that my day will like that too. I read my niece Facebook and that my younger sister will finally have her surgery. Everything went great with all her blood work done. I cannot stop crying. I feel so helpless because I am thousand miles away. I want to help her and her family. I cannot do that because I am very far.

I just write my emotions in my Facebook. I ask my friends to please include her in their prayers. I do appreciate all the comments and especially those wonderful prayers that come from their hearts. I cannot help myself crying. My eyes are really puffy since this morning.

The sun is shining now. I thank God for that. I feel a lot better too. I might shed some tears but not as bad when I woke up this morning. In few hours, my younger sister will have her surgery. I surrender everything to God. He is the best doctor that can heal my sister. I pray also to God that he will guide those amazing doctors that will do the surgery to my younger sister. I hope and pray that everything will be alright. Please continue to pray for my younger sister. I thank you all so much for that.

My 11th year here in America

It was February 16th of 2002 when I first arrived in San Francisco, California. It was a very long flight from Manila to San Francisco via Philippine Airlines. I cannot forget I am carrying my X-ray result with me all the time. It was a tiring flight being my first time flying in the international flight. The foods that the airlines served were very delicious. I still remember this mean woman telling me that I can use other bathroom. I was inline because I need “to go” so bad. As a first timer, you are still learning your emotions during the very long flight. I remembered I was interview by the Immigration officer and asking about a certain documents. I did not bring it with me. I replied to him that my fiancé that time now my husband submitted it in the US Embassy in Manila, Philippines. I am glad that he believes in me and stamp my passport as my port of entry.

It was 34 degrees when I first step out at the Buffalo International Airport in New York. It felt like I am inside the freezer. Can you imagine from 90 degrees to 34 degrees in 24 hours? I am sure that your body is shock with the temperature changes. Life has been great since then. I am very blessed with two kids. My first job is in the nursing home for seven months but have to stop when I gave birth. I visited the Philippines for four times. The recent was last year of July 2012. My kids are both baptized in the Philippines. I lost the best man in my life, my father, whom until now I miss so badly. I know that he is very happy in heaven.
I had been to some States like Georgia, Louisiana, Pennsylvania and Chicago. I also went to Canada and Japan. I love the steak with mushroom and asparagus. I still eat Filipino foods everyday.   I learned how to drive and have my driving license. I also become an American citizen.  These are some of my achievements since I live here in America. I want to say thank you to my husband for loving me as I am. I want to say thank you to America for accepting me as I am as well.

Red Hot Monday #7 My Favorite Swimwear

This is my second entry for the red hot Monday. My favorite swimwear is from Victoria's Secret. I bought this on EBay, an online auction. A fraction of the cost if you will bought it new in the store. What I love about is the color combination. I only wear this if we are swimming as a family. This was almost two years ago.
