First night of summer 2014

I took these pictures last night when my family is having dinner. It nine passed nine at night. The night is still light. Yesterday was the first day of summer. It is also the longest day of summer. Day by day, it gets one minute darker as what my husband says. We will see if he is right by that theory.

The first picture is by the pond. The second picture obviously is by the pool. Today is the second day of summer. I plan to go to church by myself if my kids will not go with me. Probably do grocery shopping afterwards. We will spend the day outside and enjoy this glorious days of summer before old man winter comes.

What a beautiful sunset by our pond

I took this picture yesterday afternoon before the sunset. I always love the sunset or even the sunrise. They are gorgeous ways of admiring how beautiful nature really is. Whatever I do if  I see a sunset, will stop and grab my camera.
I have a regular camera not a fancy camera. It will not stop me for taking pictures. I still love the result of the pictures.

Today is Sunday. My husband is not working. My kids are off to school. All I want to start my morning is to go to church. I missed church so very much. It is my favorite place. I could stay there for a whole day, just praying and reflecting.

I hope you guys are enjoying your Sunday with family and friends.

Why weather cannot make up her mind

It was 79 degrees Fahrenheit that day. It feels a lot like summer though it is spring. The kids were enjoying the sun that day. They wear tanks, shorts and flip-flops. What an awesome treat that is from the weather.

The kids even take off their flip-flops and barefoot. They both have the white feet. It needs the sun very badly. Later we know, the weather cannot make up her mind again. The next day, it was snowing and back to the winter weather. The temperature was in the 30's. It went from 79 to 30 and back to winter coat and boots again.

Today feels like winter too. It is not snowing but it is really cold. You need to bundled-up if you want to get out. Tomorrow the highs will be in the 60's, that would be awesome.

How is the weather where you at right now?

Ice skating by our pond

I felt badly that my son gets bored easily. He has no one to play ice skating last weekend. He loves to play hockey. He wants somebody to challenge him with the sticks. He pretends he is a goal tender like his favorite Buffalo Sabres goal tender Jonas Enroth. He is ready and wears his hockey outfit. He has everything that a hockey goalies needs.

He asks me if I want to play ice skating with him. I do not know how to ice skates. All I know is I can stand and go around the pond. I am not a fast ice skater like my husband and my kids. I still do it for my son. I put my knee pads to protect my knees if I fall. I am an old woman you know.

We had fun playing hockey. My son was very happy. I try to shoot the pack and he blocks them. My son is a very good hockey player. I hope someday we can put him to a hockey group so he can develop his skills.  This is me standing but not falling. My son took this picture.

He wants me to ice skates with him again. I have no choice but to get ready and play with my son. Please wish me luck that I will not fall and have bruises.

Our pond is very low this year

The water level at our pond is very low this year. I guess Western New York especially Niagara county is experiencing a high percentage of drought. The water used to up through the green pipe on the left. My husband is afraid that the water will keep on going down.

He decided to turn on the faucet and fill up the pond with water. I hope that it will rain very soon. We really needed the rain. We can see rocks at the bottom already. It means the water is not ten feet deep anymore.  What do you think? Will our fish be alright?

Flag Poles

My husband is building another dock on the other end of the pond. He is so workaholic. He is almost done. He just need to nail the boards and it is finish. It looks pretty good to me.

He asks me to look for flag poles online. How I wish I could fine one that he wants. I know flag pole will look great on the pond. Do you know a place to buy flag poles?

He is also looking for bench. When the kids go fishing, we have something to sit on. How I wish it is warmer sooner so we can see our big fish. We have koi and bass fish. I see fish jump two feet from the water. I know only bass do that.

I am excited to jump in the pond. But I am afraid if there is snapping turtle that lives their. It is a very clean pond. The water is so clear. The water is green. My husband put a dye on it.

My Little Girl Is Skating

Every time we skate on our pond, she is getting better. She is a quick learner and skating is one of

them. Honestly she skates better than Mommy.  These kids have made as we have our own place to

practice. Their daddy makes sure that the pond is clean and is ready for his family to have the fun.

Despite there daddy's hectic schedule, he makes sure he has time to bond with his kids before going

to work. I have a video I took when my little girl was skating few days ago.
