Ice skating by our pond

I felt badly that my son gets bored easily. He has no one to play ice skating last weekend. He loves to play hockey. He wants somebody to challenge him with the sticks. He pretends he is a goal tender like his favorite Buffalo Sabres goal tender Jonas Enroth. He is ready and wears his hockey outfit. He has everything that a hockey goalies needs.

He asks me if I want to play ice skating with him. I do not know how to ice skates. All I know is I can stand and go around the pond. I am not a fast ice skater like my husband and my kids. I still do it for my son. I put my knee pads to protect my knees if I fall. I am an old woman you know.

We had fun playing hockey. My son was very happy. I try to shoot the pack and he blocks them. My son is a very good hockey player. I hope someday we can put him to a hockey group so he can develop his skills.  This is me standing but not falling. My son took this picture.

He wants me to ice skates with him again. I have no choice but to get ready and play with my son. Please wish me luck that I will not fall and have bruises.

you look so cool, Jess, I do not know how to skate, wish I do, haha!! I remember my colleague from Philippines who is also teaching here now, his daughter loves ice skating, so he enrolled her for lessons, but to his surprise, the skating rink won't give lessons to kids without parents with them, his wife was too scared to skate, so, for the love of his daughter, he did, haha, indeed, what parents would do to give their kids all chances in life.

that's very loving of you to try hard for your son, you reminded me of my friend. these days, his daughter could ice skate by herself now ( over 7 years old already), so he does not ice skate anymore since he said, parati na lang syang natutumba at masakit sa katawan :)

You are one cool Momma. Your son must be happy that you always give in and join him all the time.

I love hockey. I'm fascinated with the strength and endurance of hockey players. I'm always thrilled when the puck is driven into a goal. Kaka-aliw!

Ice skating is one of my childhood dreams! I used to be in awe of the beautiful girls during Olympics. Alas, I'm too old to learn haha.

It's been ten years since I last tried to skates. I don't know if I can do it still.
