Store Certificate

My husband bought a basketball court in the sporting goods store. He opens a credit card for that store. Every dollar you spent, you will get a point. He accumulated many points. The store sent him a certificate. It was worth $60. We went to Dick's sporting goods. I bought shirts for my kids and myself. We did not pay any penny at all. What do you do to earn reward points?
