Saying good-bye to their big sister

It was two days ago when my kids say good-bye for their big sister. It has been wonderful to spent time with their big sister and niece for two weeks. I am glad that my kids bond with their big sister and their niece three times last year. I am so thankful that my husband’s relationship with his eldest daughter is back in track. It feels great to see them all bond together.

Their eldest sister and their niece stayed in my little girl’s room for tow weeks while they spend their winter breaks here in Western New York. They also went to see their friends and some relatives from her mother’s side.  It is a better sweet saying good-bye to their big sister. My son is very emotional. He is just like his Daddy.

Their big sister and their niece flew back to Florida. I hope someday we can visit them. These are some pictures I took while the kids are saying good-bye to their big sister for now.

A special picture of my Mom and her girls

I love this picture of me, my little sister and with our Mom. It is a rare and special picture that I will cherish forever. I seldom spend time with my younger sister. One main reason is I live thousand miles away from her. The last time I see her and her family was 2007 when my little girl was only six months old.

We sail to Cebu to see my younger sister and her family that time. This time she flew with my other sister and our nieces and nephew. I am glad that my big sister decided to have a birthday celebration for her grandkids back to my home town. It was a short vacation for them but still thankful.

We were at the beach with the rest of my relatives. We were inside the cottage and just talking. I am glad that I ask somebody to take a picture of my Mom and with my younger sister too. I am always the photographer during our vacation. This time I am glad that I am in the picture.

Growing up with my younger sister is a struggle. There is too much heartache. I am glad now that we have our own families and life has changed. I still contact her in Facebook. I see pictures of her family. I am thankful to easy canvas prints for this special picture. This canvas is a size 16x20 and wrapped with 7.5 inches thick from outside the frame. I really love this canvas.

12 years ago today I met the love of my life

Today is our 12th years since my husband and I met for the first time back in the Philippines. We met in my home town, Cagayan de Oro City. Our initial meeting supposedly on the 10th of September of 2001. I did not know that his flight was canceled from New York and to the Philippines. New York, his state, was attacked by the terrorists. I have no clue what happen that time. I am glad that he finally made his trip to the Philippines.

 photo loveofmylife.jpg
We spent ten days of being together. It was the best ten days of my life. We explore my home town and the beautiful island of Camiguin. It was a short vacation of him. I am still thankful that he spent ten days to met and being with me. We know each other better.  I never expected that he proposed marriage to me. I said yes because I love him the day before I met him. It was not easy saying goodbye to him. I cried for the first time. There is no other man who I shed my tears except him. I know from that moment that I love him with all my heart.

It has been 12 years since the day we met. I still remember the moments of our first meeting. I can remember it like the first day we met. I love this man more than he knows. He cares for me and my family as well. I want to say happy 12 years to the love of my life. Thank you for coming into my life. I am blessed and will always love you and our kids.

My 11th year here in America

It was February 16th of 2002 when I first arrived in San Francisco, California. It was a very long flight from Manila to San Francisco via Philippine Airlines. I cannot forget I am carrying my X-ray result with me all the time. It was a tiring flight being my first time flying in the international flight. The foods that the airlines served were very delicious. I still remember this mean woman telling me that I can use other bathroom. I was inline because I need “to go” so bad. As a first timer, you are still learning your emotions during the very long flight. I remembered I was interview by the Immigration officer and asking about a certain documents. I did not bring it with me. I replied to him that my fiancĂ© that time now my husband submitted it in the US Embassy in Manila, Philippines. I am glad that he believes in me and stamp my passport as my port of entry.

It was 34 degrees when I first step out at the Buffalo International Airport in New York. It felt like I am inside the freezer. Can you imagine from 90 degrees to 34 degrees in 24 hours? I am sure that your body is shock with the temperature changes. Life has been great since then. I am very blessed with two kids. My first job is in the nursing home for seven months but have to stop when I gave birth. I visited the Philippines for four times. The recent was last year of July 2012. My kids are both baptized in the Philippines. I lost the best man in my life, my father, whom until now I miss so badly. I know that he is very happy in heaven.
I had been to some States like Georgia, Louisiana, Pennsylvania and Chicago. I also went to Canada and Japan. I love the steak with mushroom and asparagus. I still eat Filipino foods everyday.   I learned how to drive and have my driving license. I also become an American citizen.  These are some of my achievements since I live here in America. I want to say thank you to my husband for loving me as I am. I want to say thank you to America for accepting me as I am as well.

New York City so near yet too far

I live in New York but did not visit New York City yet. It is my wildest dream to visit this famous city in America. We live near but yet too far. I even have a cousin that lives there. She even invited me and my family to come see her and meet her family. It only takes an hour and maybe not even when you take the plane. It will take you six hours or so to drive. You can ride your car or take a train.

Some of my friends visit New York City already and telling you the truth of course I am jealous. I hope to visit New York City in the future. I like to join contest and giveaway and who knows I am the lucky winner and trip to New York City is the prize.

What about you? Have you been to New York City? Do you have plans to visit New York City? I know that if my family will visit New York City we will have the fun. I have to make sure that I will write what locations or places to visit. I want to visit the famous Central Park. I want to check out the Statue of Liberty just like in this picture. I want to visit the Time Square as well.

A machine to dry your hands

This was in Manila at Ninoy Aquino International airport. I have to make sure that the girls especially my little girls go potty before we board in the airplane. I do not like to stand and use the bathroom if I want too. It makes me dizzy while sitting in the bathroom while on board an airplane.
Photobucket
This is my first time to see a hand dryer like this. I do not think I have seen it in our city. This hand dryer machine is great because the dripping of your stand stays inside the machine. It will not drip on the floor. Have you seen a hand dryer like this before? Have you use it to dry your hands?

Blue ceiling fan in my niece room

Photobucket

This is a blue ceiling fan in my niece room. It is very small. It has the power to cool you off. How I wish that I have the money to buy them a big ceiling fan. It will surely cool them off. I visited the Philippines for three weeks. My daughter and I spent most of our day in my Mom’s house. We stayed at the hotel at night where it is cool. I also bring my Mom or sometimes my nieces or my nephew in my hotel’s room. This ceiling fan is very famous in the Philippines especially if you have a small house. It also saves electricity. I am linking this entry to Blue Monday.

How I Wish I Could Visit Hawaii

I have a cousin that lives in Hawaii. She is from my father's side. Both of our fathers are brothers. I see pictures of their place. It is beautiful. I wonder how much is their housing? Is it expensive? I do not know how much is their mortgage. How I wish I could visit them someday. Maybe we could rent a house that is available for sale. Is there, cheap hotels nearby? Have you been to Hawaii? Where is your favorite place to stay?
