"Carr is a master at creating unique, complex plots and colorful characters, both evident in her latest cold case mystery featuring  Chris Matheson and the geezer squad. The plot is twisted, the mystery unique and the ending a surprise. A must-read!" - Review of CHRIS CROSSED MURDER (A Chris Matheson Cold Case Mystery, Book Four) by Marilyn R. Wilson, Author, Speaker, Book Reviewer

"Lauren Carr is among my favorite mystery writers. She knows how to write a fun tale while keeping readers engaged. ...I would give Chris Crossed Murder one hundred stars if I could. I believe readers who enjoy reading well-written and clean cozy mysteries will most definitely want to read it. I have no doubt they will enjoy it as much as I did. The fifth installment from A Chris Matheson Cold Case Mystery series is on my radar for when it releases." - Review of CHRIS CROSSED MURDER (A Chris Matheson Cold Case Mystery, Book Four) by Amy Campbell, Locks Hooks and Books

The best book so far by Ms. Lauren Carr
I know I read so many amazing books by Ms. Lauren Carr but this book Chris Crossed Murder is the best so far for me.
The Geezer Squad is back to work again but this time their most tantalizing task is figuring out who wants to kill Chris. This book is hard to put down. It blows your mind, with so many twists and turns. Solving a crime involves smart people and those are Geezer Squad. Sterling the dog also plays a vital role. This dog is unbelievably protective of his master Chris.
Justice was revealed and I am so impressed with how the Geezer Squad did it.  I wish this book can make it into a movie. it is gonna be a wild adventure, fun and full of adventures. Being a kid raised by parents who work in a crime investigation helps a lot. Sierra did that and thanked her Mom Helen for the tools to survive.

The best book in the series
Ms. Valerie Taylor wrote the best book in the series for last.  I love reading the story of Kassie since the first book in the series. She has been through a lot. This woman sometimes thinks she is a superwoman until her powers run out.
Annie, her best friend cracks me up. I can see myself to her when I talk to my sisters by heart. I wish all the woman has Annie as their best friend.
I am so happy that Kassie finally decided to let everybody go and focus on her own life. This woman deserved so much love and happiness. I am glad that finally she follows what is in her heart, and mind and focuses on herself, and finds her happiness. Too must trust and all her good deeds have been broken. Kassie, finally finds her shining armor and shines like the brightest star she is. What a beautiful book to finish the series. It is funny and emotional with beautiful friendship and love for the cat. I can't put it down until the last pages.

FlightLog Book By Susan Humphrey

Book Details:

Book Title:  FlightLog: The Novel Adventures of a Stewardess Wannabe Who Becomes a Flight Attendant by Susan Humphrey
Category:  Adult Fiction (18+),  338 pages
Genre:  Women's Fiction, Chick Lit, Memoir(ish), Coming-of-age
Publisher:  Majuscule Press
Release date:   August, 2022
Content Rating:  PG. A few romantic encounters but light on the details. Reference to tobacco use.

Book Description:

“It was 1978. People didn’t have home computers, video players, or answering machines. We rented our telephones from local phone companies and hand-wrote letters. The terms ‘politically correct’ and ‘African-American’ had not been coined. ‘Eating disorders’ and ‘alternate lifestyles’ were not yet common household phrases. Only strippers wore thongs, which made perfect sense to me, as they only caused one to gyrate their hynie in a desperate attempt to dislodge the bothersome wedgie.”

So writes Sherri Van Ness, an unassuming girl from the burbs of Kansas who’s about to embark on the adventure of her life when she signs up to become a stewardess. But it’s much more turbulent than this doughy-eyed 19-year-old ever imagined as she tries to navigate past grouchy passengers, fly-by-night relationships and the unforgiving, relentless, humiliating, monthly weigh-ins. Some dreams come true. Others require a vomit bag.

That’s not to say Sherri doesn’t enjoy herself. Au contraire! There are friends to be made and men to be made and the maid who made up her room in New York is so nice!

Yes, the work is difficult at times and the money isn’t always good, but there are perks: free flights and an endless supply of tiny vodka bottles and salted peanuts (peanut allergies hadn’t been invented yet.)

Like Dorothy Gale sans Toto, Sherri leaves Kansas and finds herself amidst a cast of characters as strange to her as the Scarecrow and the Munchkins were to Dorothy. Her whirlwind journey takes her from innocent, insecure stewardess to mature and confident flight attendant. Or does she?

Book your flight now with this very enjoyable read, put your seat back in the upright position, and enjoy the ride!

A fun and educational way to admire our friendly staff up in the sky

I enjoyed reading the book FlightLog by Ms. Susan Humphrey. I remembered when I was in college back in the Philippines, I applied for a flight stewardess but I was not accepted because of my height. It was indeed a lesson learned. I love to travel and flying is a must for me despite the fair of the turbulence. Prayers will help me get through my fear.

Flightlog is a  fun and educational way to admire our friendly staff up in the sky. They are not only gorgeous but so helpful. Reading this book made me laugh at the same time understand more about their job. They are our savior if flights have incidences. It gives me the ease of feeling that they will always be our heroes up in the sky. Sherri's flight log is fun to read.

Suz was a flight attendant for thirteen of her twenty-five years with UAL. She began penning FlightLog with the help of the Naperville Writer’s Group, outside of Chicago. There, she published in their annual pamphlet, had a humor piece printed in an online magazine, and contributed many articles to local newspapers. At the time of publication, she is busy working on FlightLog II.

She currently lives in Southern California and has two grown children. Today, she’s in healthcare, where she’s worked since 2014. Suz was the ‘baby’ of her flight attendant classes – and the ‘senior’ student in her nursing classes. I didn't see that coming
Fool Her Once is the very first book that I read by the author Ms. Joanna Elm. I didn't see that coming. This book fooled me in a perfect way. The author did an amazing job with the story.
Jenna is my favorite character in this beautiful story. Being a reporter, her beautiful instincts of her helped her solve the crime and also her and Dollie's life. The book glued me from the first chapter until the very last chapter. What a perfect title for the mystery book. It even fooled me.
I am looking forward to reading more beautiful stories from the author. I become a new fan of hers. This book is hard to put down from the very first page until the end. An evil person will change but not forever. He had met his enemy and finally ended his wrongdoings.

A beautiful and emotional story about love and its chances
Love Madly is my very first book by the author Ms. Tracy Hooker. It is a beautiful and emotional story about love and its chances. The chapters are short but sweet. It is hard to put it down.
I knew that when we got married we vowed to stay together thru thick and thin, and in health and sickness but the story of this book will tackle these certain wedding vows. Marriage will work when you are there for each other in whatever marital problems you are encountering. I felt the love between Paul and Jaime since the first chapter of the book. Their love for each other is beyond friendship since the beginning. I love their love story and was so sad for these two. I wish that they fight for their feelings from the beginning. Love gives you second chances but their chances are at the wrong time. This book has so many meanings and lessons for every marriage. I can even relate to some problems. I enjoyed reading this book. Great job writing this book Ms. Tracy Hooker.

When The Smoke Cleared Book By Bill Powers

Book Details:

Book Title When the Smoke Cleared (A Murder Mystery in Malden) by Bill Powers
Category:  Adult Non-Fiction (18 +),  400 pages
Genre:  True Crime
Publisher:  PowersCourt Press
Release date:  Oct, 2022
Content Rating:  PG-13 Some violence some profanity
Book Description:

There is no greater distinction or responsibility for a law enforcement officer than to be selected to investigate homicides. The same is true for a prosecutor. It is analogous to a call up to the big leagues where the curveballs or slapshots are frequent and more challenging, the lights are brighter, the audience larger and louder, and the scrutiny and demand for perfection can at times be a bit overwhelming.

This story follows an extraordinary murder investigation from the crime scene through to the arrest and into the courtroom. It is narrated by retired Detective Lieutenant Bill Powers, the former commander of the State Police Detective Unit for the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office in Massachusetts:

"When the smoke from the fire cleared and the water level receded, it was visually evident that a violent struggle, quite possibly a homicide, had preceded the fire. But where was the victim? The waterlogged bloodstains in the function room told us it wasn’t likely they stood up and walked out the door. We were confronted with an unusual dilemma. We not only had to investigate what happened and develop probable cause to make an arrest, but we also had to locate the poor soul who had spilled so much of their blood.”

Walk the path of the investigation with Bill and his team, and then follow in ADA Adrienne Lynch’s footsteps as she guides the trial from opening statements through to the final verdict; a truly unique accounting with a bird’s eye view.

Beyond a police and courtroom procedural, this story is about the personal struggles in the victim’s life and how her death impacted her family’s lives in ways no one could have foreseen. It is a love story that grew from unspeakable tragedy.

Bill Powers writes from the heart because he spent twenty years living the life of a homicide investigator. He went to literally hundreds of death scenes and, while each made its mark, none had more of a personal effect on him than this case.
I rated this book 5 *****'s
Wow! This book is so intensely the best
My very first time reading Mr. Bill Powers' book and I become a fan. Wow! This book is so intensely the best. It's hard to put it down.
I felt like I am inside the courthouse. It felt so real while reading this book. I felt like I am one of the jurors. My favorite character is Adrienne, the attorney. She never gives up to fight justice for Kelly until the last day. The way she prepares everything for the trial is spectacular. The crime without the body and the witness to bring the victim and her family justice is so difficult but with scientific evidence, videos, and people willing to help, justice for Kelly is finally granted.
When Smoke Cleared is one of a kind book to read, it is the best book I have read so far this month. A crime mystery that put you on your chair, bed, Kindle, or book the best experience even in solving a crime. This book is long but it's worth every page.
