March blizzard in Western New York

We had a blizzard yesterday. This is the second blizzard we have here in Western New York this winter. The last twice blizzard was in 1930. Most of the school and businesses are close. There is even travel advisory for all the counties.

I am glad that my husband is off from his work too. The kids have no school. We are staying inside the house for our safety. The wind is really bad. It was mix of rain, snow and wind. It was terrible yesterday.

It is weird that before the blizzard, we had a warm weather. It was almost reach the 60 degrees Fahrenheit. The next day we had the blizzard. It is our weather here in Western New York. It is really weird but we get use to it now.

I took some pictures from yesterday. It is hard to see the backyard. The patio is covered with snow in no time. The next day school is back. I took this picture of my son on the driveway while the sun almost rise. We had enough amount of snow. It was very cold this morning. It was 7 degrees but feels like negative 10. Despite being cold yet it is still a beautiful day.

Oh hello September

What can I expect with you September? Well, the school will begin this week. My kids are in 5th and 2nd grades. This is the first time that my kids will ride different bus. The big brother will go in different school. The little girl will go in the same school and ride the same bus. I hope that she is alright riding the bus by herself. I feel badly for her that her big brother is not around to protect and keep her safe.

September also is the start of football. My family cannot wait to watch football. I am sure that out weekend is exciting now that football will start soon. We cheer for our team, The Buffalo Bills, even they stink but we still love to cheer them.

September also is the month where I passed my road test. A week after it is my citizenship anniversary. This month is my 3rd year anniversary as a driver and as a naturalized American. It is also our anniversary when my boyfriend (now my husband) visited me in the Philippines.

September also is the fall. The surroundings will turn very pretty with leaves changing its colors. It is also the beginning of chilly weather. I do not like the cold but have to deal it as I live in America.

She loves her pink scooter

This was May 30th when my little girl was waiting for the school bus. She will have her advance birthday party for her friends that day. It was very late while waiting for their school bus. I think my little girl is very excited to celebrate her birthday that she woke up early.

She usually wear helmet when she ride her pink scooter.  She was wearing head band and her hair is wet that I did not let her wear a helmet. She only rides her scooter in the driveway for few minutes. I am watching her to make sure that she is safe while riding her scooter.


She looks so pretty riding her pink scooter, isn’t she?  I remembered it was during the Fall when I had this scooter for her. The big brother has also a black scooter from the same company. I picked pink and black for her big brother. These scooters are very easy to assemble. It has the adjustable stand for the perfect height for your kids. This scooter has a break too on the back. It is very easy to ride. Any kids are safe to ride with this scooter.

My son has a black scooter which is more advance than my little girl. Both of these scooters are affordable to buy. You can check out from the Website. How to make a welder’s job so easy

Growing up with a handy Dad makes life easier not in terms of money but with the knowledge I learned from my Dad. How I wish that I pay closer attention to my Dad while he is working. My Dad works in the maintenance department of the college that I graduated. He has the skills that most Dads do not have. I am very lucky to have him in our life though he passed away yet his teaching to us will continue.

I swear to God that HE gives me a husband just like my Dad. Now I am married to a handy husband as well. My husband is very workaholic type of guy. He never sits still. He has to work constantly or else he gets bored. He is a lineman by profession but I simply call my husband the “Handy Daddy”.

My husband likes to do anything in our house. It could be inside or outside the house. He never runs out of projects ideas. I know that he has tools yet he still needs more. I know that he likes to do welding as well. It would be awesome if we have a spin welding. It would make his work so easily. He did many plastic welding in his home projects. I know that those tools are very important to him. This handy Daddy needs advance tools like those two welding that I mention above.

I also worked in a machine shop before.  Most of the men do welding too. They look so serious while doing their job. I do admire a man who has dirty hands but being workaholic to support their family. I am sure that their wives are so proud of them too.

A pretty outfit for fall

Fall is officially tomorrow. It means that the chilly days are coming too. Today is a perfect day here in Western New York. It is not chilly and it is not warm. This week is getting chilly though when the fall begins.

Fall is beautiful. My kids like fall. It means also that I have to bundle them up when they go to school especially my little girl. I bought this pretty pink jacket and pants at Kohl’s. It is a bit expensive. I have no choice except to buy it. She really needs new fall outfit so as her big brother. I do not know how to buy them both fall outfits. Clothes are very expensive especially that I love sets for my little girl just like this outfit. I see some stores that accept lay-away. I think I will apply the lay-away. I just bought an iPad last week. The kids love my new gadget. They learn it first because they have it at school. I am getting use to it now. I am faster using my laptop than my iPad. My nephew and his Boys Scout Team

This is a picture of my nephew with his Boy Scouts Team. He is sophomore and goes to school in the Philippines. As a Boys Scout, he is very active so as the group. This is a great idea to learn many things. They went to many places. They learn how to help each other especially when accidents happen. I am so proud of my nephew. I have not see her in five years. I cannot wait to tell him that I am so proud that he is a member of the Boy Scouts.

Sandwich Spread

My little girl goes to school in the afternoon. She eats lunch with her friends in school. She always 


has sandwich in her lunch box. We run out of bologna that day. Her favorite lunch meat to eat. I 


ask her, what else does she wants to eat. She said strawberry jelly instead. It was the last 


spread of strawberry jelly. Poor girl Mommy needs to go to the grocery store to buy her some. I 


am glad she has the fruit bowls, juice drink, carrots and crackers to put in her lunch box. I am glad 


that my little girl is not picky. 

Conference In School

We went to his school yesterday afternoon, we were late because his daddy's relief from work came late. He is

really doing well in school. He is one student in a special education. He really behaves well and play well with

other students. Sometimes he is shy and of so his parents too, he must take it from his parents. I cannot believed

they do spelling already, I've never done that when I was in first grade. He needs help in his subtraction. He is

reading a little but needs more practice. We are so proud of our son. Remember, do not give up, keep on trying.

What A Journey It Had Been

Today is my sons last day in Kindergarten school. He only went to school for half day. I cannot believed I will

have a first grade soon. Where did the time go. My peanut grows up so fast and now he is six years old

already. He brought a box and inside is a movie and a box of tissue with him from his teachers and a note that

tells here is a  movie to remember your friends and a box of tissue to wipe your tears. I watch the DVD right

away and sure did it brought my tears while watching him with his friends doing activities in school and

outside. They been too many places and see his happy faces in the movie makes me loved him more. To his

teachers, Mrs. C., Mrs. Johnson & Mrs. Miner, thank you very much for everything for keeping up my son

for the class 2008-2009. We do appreciated all your help. May God bless each of your families.
