Dallas isn't Cheap!

Guest post written by my buddy Aldo Mays

Dallas is more expensive than I thought it was. I mean, I had always heard that the cost of living in Texas was pretty cheap because there was so much land and so many places to build. From what I’ve experienced since moving here that is totally not the case. I know it’s tough to say but I moved here for a job, not because I had any romantic thoughts about Texas and the old south. I’m from up north and I don’t really get why people like the heat down here! But anyway, I’m in this for the long haul because of my job so I immediately bought a condo in downtown, which was way more expensive than I thought it’d be. I got online immediately and looked up Dallas Energy Savings plans and found an electricity company that wasn’t going to break the bank. I also spent some time researching ways to make some side money – even though I love my job it’s not like I’m making bank, you know? So I’ve been selling some of the blankets I sew in my spare time online and that’s been a lot of fun. It’s a real stress reliever for me and it’s also making me some extra money so who could ask for more than that, you know? I love being important to my company but I also need some personal life. I don’t understand those people who go to work 60 hours a week and never take any time for themselves – I can’t imagine not having time to garden on my porch or read my favorite books or even watch a movie every now and then. And cooking! I love to cook and I would never take a job where I didn’t have enough time to cook when I wanted to. It’s just me but I think it’s important to eat well and also do things that help relieve stress, you know what I mean? My job is demanding enough as is.

Woke up with a flooded laundry room

I woke up early in the morning to go to the bathroom. I was sleeping in the family room that night. I got up and was wondering why the carpet is wet. I turn on the light in the kitchen to check for the refrigerator. I thought the refrigerator is open and that is why the water is leaking from the fridge. Surprisingly, the kitchen floor is dry.

I went my may to the bathroom, and the floor is wet. I was shocked of the water I see on the floor. I heard a dripping in the laundry room. There it was the laundry room is flooded. I panic and do not know what to do. My husband worked afternoon and got home around 11 at night. I do not know if I wake him up. I am not sure if he gets mad at me for waking him up. Knowing that he has a problem sleeping and my decision is very vital. I woke him up and as expected he sound asleep. I felt badly that I have to wake him up. I have no choice but to let him know the situation.

He was still half sleep when I talked to him. I told him the laundry room is wet. He said that I have to clean it up. I told him to check out the laundry room and he did. We spent an hour or so cleaning up the mess on the laundry room. I wipe the floor.

.He then get the vacuum we have that is awesome for wet spot. The vacuum suction all the water and dried up the laundry room for now. He also checked the hot water tank. He suspected that it was from the water tank. We went back to bed and will call a service man in the morning.  What a night that was.

How to have a Pest-Free Home

I remember to see flying cockroaches in my Mom’s cabinet back in my home town. It is very disgusting to see them hiding inside the covers. We keep our food covered with a plate. I bet the smell of the food attracts them. Sometimes they are flying towards you. Can you imagine how I freaked out? The last time I went for a vacation, I did not notice any cockroaches. I do not know if they are still in the covers or they are gone forever.

Pests are very dirty.  They are very unhealthy and make you sick. I got bit by a cockroach before while sleeping when I was a kid. My arms were swollen very bad—Luckily I was fine, thank God. The dangers of pests for others are lethal. You never know if you are carrying a disease from pests. There are ways to control pests. You have to make sure that your house is very clean. Pests love to go places where it is smelly and dirty. You also need services like pests control professional to keep your house pests free.

There is a show on TV about pests invading homes. It is very frightening to watch. The home owners are afraid of their own house. I watch the show because I want to learn and prevent pests coming to our home.  The exterminator did an awesome job killing and preventing pests from coming to that house.

How about you? Do you suspect of having pests in your house? Do you need professional to check your house? Why not give Terminix a call? You can also fill-up a form from their Website.  When you call now, there is $50 discount special offer for any pest control solution. Please do not wait for pests to control your house. Please call now for your safety and especially for the family's health.

Tulips become my favorite flower the first spring it grew since I came here in America. Tulips are very beautiful. I do wish that it grows forever but sadly it die after the spring. It is very easy to plant tulips too. My husband thought me to plant during the fall when the weather is really chilly.

Tips on how to prevent having stretch marks

I was 29 years old when I first had my son. It was the best feeling when I found out I was pregnant for the first time. My husband was very excited too. He had a daughter when he was 20 years old. He had experienced having a wife that was pregnant. I have no clue about pregnancy.

Pregnancy is the best thing happened to me and being a woman. The moment I found out I was pregnant with my first baby, I was shock and at the same time very excited. I am glad that my husband advised me to buy a cocoa butter to apply in my stomach to prevent from having stretch marks. It worked for me. I now have the two kids and I do not have any stretch marks on my tummy.
