The Last Thing She Said Book by Lauren Carr

"Too many twists and turns to easily share about this book. Nevertheless, Carr has pulled off another "hit" that kept me reading in one setting until the clues were so well together that the villain fell into our laps...or Chris's, LOL Carr has put a lot into the book beyond the mysteries this time...Characters enjoyed chocotinis, visited book stores...and even blundered into getting engaged (the ring had been purchased 4 months ago)... But, for me, a special thank you for the political spoof at a time when politics at the national level is devastating, gave me a laugh and lightened the load of it all!" - Review by Glenda Bixler, Book Reader's Heaven

The most mind-blowing book I read from the author

Ms. Lauren Carr did it again with this story. This is the most mind-blowing book I read of her. I loved her books and The Last Thing She Said is not an exemption. This book is like 2 stories put into one. As a reader, we have bonus

Prepare to be amazed with this amazing story. I do not know how did Ms. Lauren Carr always put us in a hot seat to blows our mind with her twist and turn of her stories. I cannot put this book down. This is the best book I read this month.

This book is not only full of mystery but it has romance, comedy and above all the love for animals. I cannot wait for Ms. Lauren Carr's new book and what mystery next is going to twist our minds.

Book Description:
“I’m working on the greatest mystery ever,” was the last thing noted mystery novelist Mercedes Livingston said to seven-year-old Chris Matheson before walking out of Hill House Hotel never to be seen again.

For decades, the writer’s fate remained a puzzling mystery until an autographed novel and a letter put a grown-up Chris Matheson on the trail of a cunning killer. With the help of a team of fellow retired law enforcement officers, each a specialist in their own field of investigation, Chris puts a flame to this cold case to uncover what had really happened that night Mercedes Livingston walked out of Hill House Hotel. "Filled with twists and turns, Winter Frost reads perfectly well as a stand-alone, although it is part of a series. The author creates tension and suspense throughout by keeping the reader guessing; she keeps readers engaged with well fleshed out characters and a dash of humor. Sterling, the retired German Shepherd police dog turned card shark, is a new favorite. As the story flows, the truth unfolds, layer by layer, leading to a satisfying conclusion.

Carr's Geezer Squad has brought sexy back to mature men and women, whose kickass attitude and smarts sizzle as they melt the clues to those cold cases!"  Laura Fabiani, Library of Clean Reads

The Tender Birds Book by Carole Giangrande

Book Details:

Book Title The Tender Birds by Carole Giangrande
Category Adult Fiction (18 +),  305 pages
Genre:  Literary Fiction
Publisher Inanna Publications
Release date:  October 2019
Content Rating:  PG-13 + M
(References to mature themes. The f-word and s**t are used about six times each. There are two non-explicit sex scenes (one is a reverie) and there is no physical violence.)

Book Description:

Matthew Reilly is a busy academic, a lonely priest haunted by secrets. Young Alison is the shy and devoted keeper of Daisy, a falcon which suffered an accident and can no longer fly. The three of them meet in a Boston parish, but Matt has forgotten a momentary but disturbing meetup with Alison, homeless eight years earlier in Toronto. Close to exhaustion, he's forced to reflect on what's become of his life, including the loss of a son that no one knew he'd fathered. Alison and Matt had a fateful encounter during her homeless period, but Matt doesn't connect that frail teenager with the healthy young woman she'd become. It's left to Alison to uncover Matt's past and for Matt to come to terms with it.

I rated this book 4 ****'s

The past will always haunt you

This is a beautiful story. I have never read a book like this before. Our past will always haunt us. The only way to move on is to face the reality and learned from that experienced. It will make us stronger or weak and it is a hard choice.

Birds are like person. They need healthy wings to fly and enjoy nature. I feel bad for the birds at work. I wish that they are free and not inside the cages but oh well, that is life.

An extra ordinary book to read, the author will capture your mind and soul. Priest is only human and they commit sin too. Prayers are so powerful and will heal your sorrow. You just have faith in God and believe in yourself that everything will be alright.

Praise for Carole Giangrande's novels:

“…prose that absolutely shimmers. What’s more, her recapitulation of what is was like to watch 9/11 unfold on television is engrossing in its verisimilitude. DeLillo, Amis and Foer could learn a thing or two from her.” — Quill and Quire
“This is a softly unsettling book, effective in showcasing the confusion that follows such a personal yet public crisis.” — Publishers’ Weekly
“…a deftly crafted meditation on what happens in the aftermath of tragedies both public and private, calling into question the idea that time heals all wounds.” — Room Magazine
“Giangrande has written a thought-provoking story that will have your heart racing, bursting, and breaking. The story is thoughtful, slow-going, and emotional.  The prose is beautiful.  The characters are interesting, flawed, and realistic.  And the ways in which this book explores life and death through the pain of waiting and not knowing is superb.  I just loved this book so hard.  It was terrific!” — A Bookish Way of Life
“The wording is both elegant and poetic… the author, accomplished painting vivid images within my mind’s eye that will never be forgotten. Overall this book is unique, being unlike anything I have read before. Go get a copy! You will not be disappointed.” —Readaholic Zone

About the Author:

Taming My Whiskey by Melissa Foster

Buckle up for a wild ride as Dixie Whiskey finds forever love in TAMING MY WHISKEY, a funny, sexy, and emotionally riveting standalone romance by New York Times bestselling author Melissa Foster. The perfect love story for those who enjoy fiercely loyal and insanely sexy alpha heroes, smart, sassy heroines, strong family bonds, bikers, babies, and more!

In TAMING MY WHISKEY…
Being the princess of the Dark Knights motorcycle club doesn’t come with a white knight or a fairy-tale castle, and that’s okay, because Dixie Whiskey has never needed a man to slay her dragons or make her whole. Even so, after watching each of her brothers fall in love, she’d sure like a shot at her own happily ever after. But with the Dark Knights watching over her and the only man she’s ever wanted out of reach, she’s not holding her breath.

As the launch of Silver-Stone Cycles’ biggest line approaches, Jace Stone is left needing a favor from the one woman who holds the power to take him to his knees. He knows when it comes to sinfully gorgeous and sharp-tongued Dixie Whiskey, he must stay on his toes and keep his walls firmly in place. But Jace needs her for his business—and Jace Stone always gets what he wants.

When the tall, gruff, and darkly handsome biker presents an opportunity that any other woman might see as the chance of a lifetime, Dixie turns him down flat. But Jace is determined, and he pulls out all the stops—sending Dixie’s overprotective brothers up in arms. Rebellious Dixie takes a stand—going after the freedom, and the man, she’s always wanted. One scorching kiss leads to an undeniable connection, but Jace isn't looking to be tied down, and Dixie refuses to play second fiddle. Can two untamable hearts find forever love in each other’s arms?

The Whiskeys are perfect beach reads with depth of story, strong family ties, and a wealth of emotions. Small town love stories with happily ever afters guaranteed.

My favorite Whiskey

I loved Dixie and she is my favorite Whiskey sibling. Taming My Whiskey is my favorite book of the Whiskey series. I loved everything about Dixie, not only from her looks, her character, but she is so strong and will not tolerate any bad guys not until she met Jace. This book is beyond perfection. I thought summer was over here in New York, but Dixie and Jace's connection is so scorching hot. Taking a cold shower is not enough. I am thinking about driving the motorcycle with my husband, mind you I am afraid of that beast, but now I changed my mind.

Every chapter is so delicious to read, I even have to act one chapter with my husband. This book will pull you through. The way their mind acts are so excruciating pain to read but their body doesn't deny the connection. It is steamy, funny and so much love. I loved the scenery especially the beach, the forest and of course New York City. I think I have to look for Jace once I visited NYC soon.

Well done Ms. Foster, this book is beyond amazing. I cannot wait to hold my paperback copy of this book.
