A novel of historical fiction that turns on two key events: the discovery of a beautiful blonde woman’s body in the back seat of a burnt out SS staff car during the last days of World War II, by US Army Medical Corps Colonel Samuel Singer, and the unsealing more than four decades later of a security-taped package from Germany, bearing a secret that changes the life of New York art curator Daniel Singer, the adopted son of Colonel Singer.

As Daniel learns more about the package’s contents, he unlocks the history of three families -- one American and two German – through tumultuous times, from the end of the First World War to the rise of Adolf Hitler, the Second World War, the Holocaust, and through to three Middle East wars. Along the way, he gets entangled in the web of the Mossad, Israel’s top secret spy agency and Naomi one of its beautiful operatives, and is ultimately faced with a life-altering choice – and the opportunity to right the most heinous of wrongs.

Something different for me to read

I admit I am not a fan of reading books about war. It is not my cup of tea. Between The Walls pop my cherry, and I am so glad that I agreed to read this book.

I do not know about Hitler but heard his name, but I was not paying attention. I am so glad that this book gives me the ins and out of his devil ways and his colleagues.

Between These Walls is a beautiful story of survival, defeat, freedom and giving back. It is very emotional as well. I did not cry but almost. My first book of the author and I liked his style of writing. It is very engaging until the last page. I enjoyed reading this book.

I loved that the main character give back what is due to the victims. It really is beautiful to read that scene. It is heartbreaking as well. I really recommend this book if you love to read war and history. This is a must read.

He was bad to the bone…
Devin “Bone” Wallace is fresh out of prison and under orders from his parole office to find employment or be re-incarcerated. He’s not exactly a “people person” and he’s got zero computer skills, but that doesn’t stop him from applying at one of the most prestigious real estate firms on Florida’s Gulf Coast.
High-end real estate broker Tedi Mack’s main focus is selling eight-figure beachfront mansions. In desperate need of an office receptionist, she interviews three bubblegum-chewing twenty-somethings and a stunningly handsome tattooed biker who wears his wallet on a chain. Tedi and her all-woman sales staff make a very quick decision: Devin the biker.
After Devin makes a recommendation about a listing that’s been a thorn in Tedi’s side, the property sells, and the celebration leads to an unexpected connection. The attraction is undeniable and hard to resist, but Tedi would be risking her social and professional status being with Devin, a tattooed biker saddled with debt and a surprising criminal past.

My favorite so far among the Misadventures series

I read many series of Misadventures from different authors, so far this book is my most favorite from the series. It is my very first book too from the author. I would say I become an instant fan.

This book is hard to put it down. You will hook from the very first chapter until the end.

I loved that I never stop laughing. There are so many laughs out loud moments that you will enjoy while reading this book. At the same time, it is sweet and hot. You can never judge a person by its appearance. Devin will put you into shame. He has such a good heart and willing to defend women to those men that hurt them physically.

I think I am gonna reread this book again.

*********
Misadventures is a romantic series of spicy standalone novels, each written or co-written by some of the best names in romance. The stories are scandalous, refreshing, and, of course, incredibly sexy. They’re the perfect bedside read, a ‘quick blush’ for the reader who loves a page-turning romance.

Distance cures heartaches

If love between two people are meant to be united and whatever circumstances happen. Love will always find a way. A book written so beautifully by an author who is new to me and I become an instant fan.

Distant and soul-searching works perfectly when you are trying to straighten up your life. A new person comes in a way and helped you focus on what is in-front of you. Love is such a deadly game. It could damage a soul but at the same healed a broken heart.

Second chance of love is even better than the first time. It defines the real you. I enjoyed reading this book. I would die to go camping right now and create a beautiful memory with my family, my furry girls and my camera that will capture precious moment.

This book is such a powerful read. It does heal your broken soul.

Second chance of love

This is another beautiful and heart-thumping read from Ms. Lauren Carr. She never stops to amazed me with her stories. Killer Deadline is a story of second chance of love and finding justice.

Love can make you wicked. Jealousy is even worst. When your relationship is not build with love but with something else, that relationship won't last. Friendship can be deadly when jealousy involves as well.

Elmo is one cute but funny dog. He is one of the heroine. My favorite character is Nikki. This girl is witty and am so glad that she found justice for her Dad and find the love of her life as well.

Category:  Adult Fiction (18+)
Genre Historical Mystery
Publisher She Writes Press
Release dates:   April 2020
Content Rating: R:
My book is rated R for 2 sex scenes that are somewhat explicit but which are tastefully done. There is periodic swearing (not excessive), but no violence.

BOOK DESCRIPTION:

A spiritualist, an insane asylum, a lost little girl . . .

When Clive, anxious to distract a depressed Henrietta, begs Sergeant Frank Davis for a case, he is assigned to investigating a seemingly boring affair: a spiritualist woman operating in an abandoned schoolhouse on the edge of town who is suspected of robbing people of their valuables. What begins as an open and shut case becomes more complicated, however, when Henrietta―much to Clive’s dismay―begins to believe the spiritualist's strange ramblings.

Meanwhile, Elsie begs Clive and Henrietta to help her and the object of her budding love, Gunther, locate the whereabouts of one Liesel Klinkhammer, the German woman Gunther has traveled to America to find and the mother of the little girl, Anna, whom he has brought along with him. The search leads them to Dunning Asylum, where they discover some terrible truths about Liesel. When the child, Anna, is herself mistakenly admitted to the asylum after an epileptic fit, Clive and Henrietta return to Dunning to retrieve her. This time, however, Henrietta begins to suspect that something darker may be happening. When Clive doesn’t believe her, she decides to take matters into her own hands . . . with horrifying results.

An emotional book about unselfish love and a kind-heart.

MEET THE AUTHOR:

Michelle Cox is the author of the multiple award-winning Henrietta and Inspector Howard series as well as "Novel Notes of Local Lore," a weekly blog dedicated to Chicago's forgotten residents. She suspects she may have once lived in the 1930s and, having yet to discover a handy time machine lying around, has resorted to writing about the era as a way of getting herself back there. Coincidentally, her books have been praised by Kirkus, Library Journal, Publishers Weekly, Booklist and many others, so she might be on to something. Unbeknownst to most, Michelle hoards board games she doesn't have time to play and is, not surprisingly, addicted to period dramas and big band music. Also marmalade.
